Types Of Dumbbells, Resistance Band And Barbells

Looking for a new way of working out? This can be possible with any of your favorite equipments like dumbbells, barbells and resistance band . All these are magic tools that can add value to your training, if possible you can use all by time.

Each type of equipments has its advantages and disadvantages. A barbell allows you to lift heavier weights, so you progress faster. The downside is that they have a higher risk of injury. On the other hand, dumbbells are safer and easier to use, but can only add a certain amount of weight.  Resistance bands are literally ‘bands’ that are either flat or tubular in shape.

Let’s see few types of barbells, dumbbells and resistance bands respectively

Few types of barbells are listed below:

  • Standard bars

They are the most popular option and can be used for traditional power and strength exercises, such as the shoulder press and squat. When heavily loaded, they tend to bend a bit.

  • Deadlift bars

They can handle heavier loads and have a longer shaft. They’re typically coated with steel for a better grip. Compared to standard barbells, they’re slightly narrower in diameter.

  • Powerlifting bars
They are designed for massive loads and have little to no bend. Olympic barbells are slightly more flexible. They work best for power cleans and other dynamic exercises.

Types of dumbbells are as follow:

    • Studio dumbbells
They are those cute little things that most women use in the gym. They come in bright colors and don’t weigh more than 20 pounds or so. They’re designed for aerobics classes and light workouts.
    • Fixed dumbbells
The dumbbells themselves have a cast iron core with a thick rubber coating which makes them extremely durable and easy to use.
    • Adjustable dumbbells
The dumbbell, a type of free weight, is a piece of equipment used in weight training. It can be used individually or in pairs, with one in each hand.

      Types of Resistance band

      • Flat bands
They are one of the most widely used and inexpensive models and get their name from their typical rubber band appearance. Flat bands have no handles or grips, but they do come in varying levels of resistance.
      • Pull-up bands
They have more potential when it comes to building muscle and pulling off a greater variety of moves, as they add more resistance to exercises due to their thickness. They are a great option for those new to fitness, as they are relatively easy to grasp!
      • Resistance tubes
Resistance tubes have a different appearance to the bands.  the handles on resistance tubes give them the advantage of being able to be anchored just about anywhere.
      • Figure 8 bands
It’s easy-to-use in general and is an excellent choice for those wanting to transition smoothly into training with resistance bands.
      • Lateral resistance band
They make up for what resistance tubes miss, which is the ability to comfortably anchor them to the ankles to work the laterals. it  improves  stabilisation in the lower body laterals.

        1. Barbells can be used for heavy lifting. While heavy lifting makes you strong and big, it also has its risks.
        2. Dumbbells can strengthen your stabilizing muscles more than barbells. Stabilizing muscles can help protect your joints while exercising.
        3. Barbells are better but dumbbells can be moved completely freely so your body can follow the most natural movement pattern.

         4. Resistance bands are cheap. When compared to the likes of treadmills, exercise bikes, or power towers, they are clearly one of the most economical ways of getting fit. practical benefits of resistance bands is that they are easy to carry around with you.

         5. The adaptability of resistance bands is one of their main strengths, and certainly compliments the fact that they can be taken anywhere. Since resistance bands are adaptable and come in light resistance levels, they’re also used for stretching.

         6. Dumbbells and bars are flexible tools for building muscles. Dumbbells are best suited for lighter, isolated exercises. For lifting heavy objects in compound movements, weights are more practical and cost-effective, but weights require more equipment to reach their full potential.

        7. With resistance bands, things are different. After all, you deserve to find the best piece of kit for your goals.
